Preston North End ran out 3-0 winners against play-off rivals Coventry City last Friday night.
Here are our talking points from a memorable away day for Ryan Lowe's side.
5. A debut in PNE colours
The praise has been there for Josh Seary all season, but he will no doubt have been itching to tick his first team debut off - with other academy lads having done so. Lowe managed to get the teenager on the pitch in injury time and Seary looked delighted. There has been big belief in the player since he was young and the hard work has to now continue. Brad Potts won't be around forever, so that right back shirt could be his one day if he really wants it and can continue to impress. There was an interesting comment from Lowe, when asked about his chat with Seary before he went on. PNE's boss mentioned the importance of 'bonuses' and 'incentives'. North End's manager sometimes makes substitutes that spark debate, but he evidently sees it as a chance to keep morale and motivation high among players in camp.
6. Through the storm
Even after a win, Lowe is sometimes a touch spiky and not as upbeat as you would perhaps expect. Here, though, the Preston boss looked genuinely happy post-match. His team had performed excellently on the night, in an extremely tough test - on paper. North End were on the front foot as they sailed into the lead, then organised and professional to see the points home comfortably. Lowe came through a run of form and spell of pressure that others may have not, but he and his team have undoubtedly turned a corner and are only looking in one direction for the rest of the season. After the game, Lowe was keen to stress the game-by-game approach Preston will take, while not wanting to get carried away. There will be ups and downs across the next 12 games, but PNE have given themselves a chance. You just never know.
