Southampton agree £9m deal to sign ex-Preston North End and Derby County man - reports
The forward has attracted plenty of Championship interest after his PNE loan
Preston North End loan star Lewis Dobbin is reportedly set to join Southampton.

Reports on Monday claim that the Aston Villa man is on his way to St Mary’s, in a deal worth £9million plus add-ons.
As reported by the Lancashire Post last week, the 23-year-old also attracted interest from Wolves and Middlesbrough - while Sheffield United were linked with a possible move.
Dobbin - who scored against Saints home and away last season - is said to be undergoing his medical today (Monday, 13 July).
The tricky forward enjoyed an excellent year with PNE, for whom he scored 11 goals and assisted a further eight.
He made the move to Aston Villa in June 2024 but never made a first team appearance, with loans also spent at Norwich City and West Brom.
Villa bought Dobbin from Everton in a deal which saw Tim Iroegbunam move in the opposite direction. While with the Toffees, Dobbin had a loan stint with Derby County.
A move to Southampton will first see the attacker come up against Preston on November 7 - an evening kick-off at Deepdale.
As far as another loan player from last season is concerned, reports over the weekend were that Blackburn Rovers have agreed a loan deal for Daniel Jebbison.
However, journalist Alan Nixon did state that the Canadian is ‘open’ to other moves - though personal terms and the loan-to-buy are ‘sorted’.
