Callum Robinson, Alan Browne, Sean Maguire and Graham Burke are in a provisional 32-man squad which will be cut down after the weekend.
Maguire's inclusion is a surprise bearing in mind he has kicked a ball since PNE's final pre-season friendly at Oldham on July 28.
The striker damaged a hamstring tendon in the first half of that game and has only returned to training in the last 10 days or so.
Robinson made his Republic of Ireland debut in the last set of international fixtures, starting against Wales and Poland, having qualified to play for them through his late grandmother.
Midfielder Browne is back in the squad having missed the two Ireland games in September with a calf injury.
Burke has had little game time of late at North End but the summer signing from Shamrock Rovers will be looking to add to his two caps.
Former PNE players Greg Cunningham and Daryl Horgan are also in the provisional squad.
The Republic of Ireland face Denmark at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Saturday, October 13, then host Wales on October 16.
