Sad that Ben Davies and Ben Pearson have left for a pittance, Preston fan John Smith sad at the way the club have lost two of its stars
However, despite a the turn around in personnel the result was exactly the same which to the fans is “what it’s all about” and most were left feeling disappointed after yet another loss on home turf.
Rafferty got the ball in the net seconds after kick off with a diving header 70s star Ricky Heppolette would have been proud of but unfortunately this one was in his own goal and counted for Rotherham.
The new look line up did create some chances and we should really have been level before more poor defending gave away another goal early on in the second half.
Although we soon pulled a goal back, the defeat against a side in the bottom three before the kick off was another bitter pill to swallow for the faithful who have seen the backbone of their team replaced by loan players in this transfer window.
Like many others I hope Ben Davies has success at Liverpool but I personally cannot understand some of the euphoria surrounding the move.
I feel that instead of congratulating ourselves over producing a player for Liverpool we should be holding our heads in our hands mourning the fact that somehow Davies along with midfielder Ben Pearson – two of our best players in recent years – have ended up leaving the club for a pittance instead of the multi-million pound fees which both men should have commanded.
