Reports: Preston North End 'lining up' move for former Everton winger
North End are one of several clubs interested.
Preston North End are exploring a move for Oxford United winger Stanley Mills, according to reports.

Pete O’Rourke claims that PNE are one of many Championship clubs interested in the 22-year-old, who began his senior career at Everton.
Mills, the son of former Leeds and Manchester City right back Danny, first joined the U’s on loan in 2023, but saw his spell there cut short due to a knee injury. He returned to the club on a permanent basis in January 2025.
After scoring three goals and assisting four, he was named their Player of the Season in the 2025/26 campaign, one that was otherwise disappointing for Oxford, who were relegated from the second-tier.
The now-League One outfit are currently operating under a temporary transfer embargo, leaving them unable to register new players this summer. Offloading members of the squad is likely to form a key part of their efforts to have the embargo lifted over the coming weeks.
Elsewhere, reports in France have credited PNE with interest in the Nice forward Kevin Carlos. The 25-year-old Spanish striker joined the Ligue 1 side from FC Basel last summer for €6million but reports claim they now want to move him on as they try to lower their wage bill. He has also been linked with Turkish side Samsunspor.
Carlos registered two goals last season, both of those coming in the Europa League. Despite his struggles in front of goal last year, he found the net 14 times in his last 12 months at Basel, also recording double figures for goals in previous stints at fellow Swiss side Yverdon and SD Huesca’s B-team.
