Preston supporters set for Deepdale return when Cardiff City come to town

North End host the Bluebirds on Saturday, October 17 which will be their third home fixture of the 2020-21 season.

Alex Neil's men will meet Swansea City at home on the opening day of the campaign on Saturday, September 12 and then two weeks later they will entertain Stoke City.

Before that, PNE are due to meet Mansfield Town at Deepdale in the first round of the Carabao Cup at the end of August.

However, under current government guidelines with regards to the Covid-19 pandemic, those three games are set to go-ahead behind closed doors.

The government announced earlier this summer that they hope to see English football in front of fans again by October 1.

With that in mind, North End could play in front of a crowd for their trip to Brentford on October 3.

It is likely that Deepdale will only be able to utilise 25 to 30% of its capacity at first.
