The games do not stop coming for PNE, who face six games in 18 days, as they welcome the Millers to Deepdale.

They got their first league win of the season on Saturday as Brad Potts’ wonder goal was enough to separate PNE and the Hatters at Kenilworth Road.

It is a much different encounter for Ryan Lowe, who altered his tactics for the trip to Luton and will do again for the visit of Rotherham.

Lowe said: “Rotherham will pose different threats, a little bit similar to Luton, the ball coming into the box from different angles and all over the pitch. But we put the Luton game to bed on the bus on the way home.

"We'll debrief the Luton game, take the stuff that we feel we can be better at that we can put into Rotherham on Tuesday.

"It's going to be a tough encounter but it's one we're looking forward to at home.

"If you can put back to back wins together it's fantastic, Rotherham had a fantastic result on Saturday winning 4-0 so it is not going to be easy.

"Paul Warne's teams are never easy to play against but we've got to make sure we put the game plan together.

Consistency was the issue for Preston last season, never really being able to go on a long run of form that would see them challenging in the top six.

That is the biggest target for this season for the PNE boss, who doesn’t doubt his side’s quality, and North End have the chance to extend their unbeaten start to the season to five games, four in the league.

Lowe said: “We're not getting too carried away, we've won a game of football. The lads are happy, the staff are happy.

"We know there are going to be bumps in the road, but if you back it up with wins then it tells a story in itself and that is the aim.

"We're going to have a tough Rotherham team standing in our way to stop us doing that.”
