PNE travel to Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup, 7:45pm, a competition that helped them out this time last season as they themselves were struggling to find form.

Ledson said: “They've not started the greatest, they've lost their first two games, so I expect a reaction.

"They'll be like us, they'll be looking to get their first win. I know you can say it's only the cup but we want to win, you want to win a game to build momentum.

"Let's hope we can get that win. It's a proper game, it's a proper cup. Look at the teams we've drawn in the last few years, we've had Man City, we've had Liverpool.

"They're games you want to play in, you want to have a big day for the club.”

For Ledson, 24, this season is having an increased importance as he is in the final 12 months of his contract.

Now an established and senior member of the squad, as well as a former player of the year, Ledson is well liked around the club by staff and supporters.

The Liverpudlian is clear in his mind what he would like for his future and that is to stay at Deepdale.

He said: “It's a massive season, I'm out of contract next summer but I don't want to go anywhere. I want to stay here, I love it here and everyone knows I love it here.

”All I've got to do is work hard, play games, do well and hopefully I'll get a new deal.

"If they come and offer me a new contract I'm not going to turn it down.

"I love the club, I love the lads, I love the fans - I love everything about it. We'll just have to wait and see but it's down to me.”
