North End have been without a game since November 12 when they lost 4-2 to Millwall at Deepdale as the Qatar World Cup got underway shortly after.
They will be looking for revenge against Rovers who did the double over them last season, with a 1-0 win at Ewood Park.
A local clash too, there will be plenty riding on the game to start of their next run of games, with four games to come before the new year.
Here’s who we think will get the nod for PNE...

5. CB: Andrew Hughes
Although he has missed points throughout the season with injury, Andrew Hughes is still PNE's best option on the left side of the defence. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth

6. RWB: Brad Potts
He regained his spot in the starting XI just before the international break and with Alan Browne's form in midfield also picking up, we could see Brad Potts start on the right Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth

7. CM: Ben Whiteman
After picking up a groin injury before the international break, Ryan Lowe was forced to start a game without Ben Whiteman for the first time. He should be back fit again now and he's always a key player when available Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley

8. LWB: Alvaro Fernandez
In a derby PNE might look to go on the front foot, in which case Alvaro Fernandez on the left side, with Brady in the centre, is an attacking option that could lead to chances Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
