Preston North End were hammered 1-5 by Watford on Saturday, with Valerien Ismael's side scoring four goals in the second half.
Here are our talking points from the Deepdale drubbing.
5. Pressure is still on
A point at Norwich and dominant win at Huddersfield set Preston up nicely for their return to home soil, having left Deepdale deflated and despondent on their last outing against QPR. It felt like a solid opportunity to finish the week on a high, with a good performance and some form of result. It was never going to be easy against Watford, based on their recent results. PNE did create clear-cut opportunities in the first half, but Watford also had plenty and that continued in a demolition job of a second half. In the first half, North End looked more than capable of taking something from the game and that would've likely eased pressure on the boss. But, a 1-5 mauling is a catastrophic result and there are now several supporters who have lost faith. Time will tell if Lowe is able to restore that, but for the second match in a row Deepdale was half empty at the full time whistle and boos rang around North End's home ground. If Norwich and Huddersfield represented one step forward, this was four backwards. Preston went on a great run at the start of the season, but key underlying stats have been a concern all campaign and they have now caught up with North End - who have won three of their last 15 matches.
