Emil Riis, Tom Barkhuizen and Andrew Hughes returned to the side, Riis and Barkhuizen having been on the bench in the defeat to Luton 13 days ago, a game Hughes missed through injury.

Ben Whiteman, Anthony Gordon and Joe Rafferty were the players to make way, Whiteman and Gordon among the substitutes but Rafferty didn't make the matchday squad.

It looked like a change of formation to 4-4-2, Riis up front with Ched Evans, with Barkhuizen and Scott Sinclair playing wide.

With Daniel Johnson partnering Ryan Ledson in midfield, it was an attacking line-up.

On the bench there was was a return to the squad for midfielder Tom Bayliss.

Former North End striker Jordan Hugill was among the substitutes for Norwich.
