The West London side cashed in on Ebere Eze in the summer, selling the talented midfielder for £19.5m to Crystal Palace.

Some of that money has been reinvested, with eight new signings arriving at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

There have been other departures too, Ryan Manning sold to Swansea for £250,000, while Jordan Hugill’s loan ended.

Queens Park Rangers striker Macauley Bonne is challenged by Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham

So things have very much been freshened up by QPR boss Mark Warburton.

The new faces have included Macauley Bonne, a £2m signing from Charlton and a player PNE were linked with at one stage. The striker is expected to lead the attack for Preston’s visit.

Another new boy of sorts is Luke Amos, bought from Tottenham after being on loan last season. However, his season looks to be over after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Bournemouth.

Scotland international Lyndon Dykes arrived from Livingstone, with Tom Carroll recruited from Swansea City.

North End manager Alex Neil has certainly taken note of QPR's recruitment ahead of the trip to the capital.

Neil said: "They've taken a batch of the Eze money and invested in six or seven new signings.

"It freshens them up which is important. That freshness can give you impetus."

QPR have six points on the board after a 2-0 opening-day win over Nottingham Forest and draws with Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Bournemouth.

Their one Championship defeat came at Coventry where they were beaten 3-2.
