Last weekend we saw Leeds United drop all three points at home to Wigan Athletic, Brentford dish out a thrashing to a Jarrod Bowen-bereft Hull City, and Charlton pick up only their second win in 18 games. Here's our rundown of the best Championship tweets from last weekend...
Championship Tweets of the Weekend
Last updated: Monday, 03 February, 2020, 13:39
Derby County 4-0 Stoke City
The Rams thrashed the Potters in a deadline day cracker to get the weekend, started. Stoke City's Tom Ince was having no luck getting past the rock-solid Craig Forsyth, much to be amusement of Derby Count fans.
Cardiff City 1-1 Reading
It was a fairly drab affair at the Cardiff City Stadium, as both sides lost ground in the promotion race with a dull 1-1 draw. Mind you, this fan was right on the money with their pre-match tip!
Hull City 1-5 Brentford
In times gone by, this would be a shoe-in for a bargain bin goalkeeping blunders VHS. The ball boy was loving it, but it was very much the Bees who had the last laugh as they hammered the Tigers 5-1.
Leeds United 0-1 Wigan Athletic
Oh boy, this one didn't go to plan for Leeds. Fresh off the back of an incredible comeback against Millwall, their lack of cutting edge saw them sucker-punched by Wigan in the second half. This Tweet sums it up pretty accurately!
Middlesbrough 1-1 Blackburn Rovers
Boro made it four games without a win at the weekend, and look increasingly likely to be involved in a relegation battle. Still, these stats from Lewis Wing were an eye-catching highlight.
Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Milwall
Fans at Hillsborough bore witness to the dampest of footballing squibs last weekend, as the two play-off hopefuls played out a dire draw. Still, this tackle from Owls defender Dominic Iorfa was sensational.
Fulham 3-2 Huddersfield Town
A quite frankly insane first half saw all five match goals fly in within the space of 39 minutes, in a highly entertaining clash at Craven Cottage. This Michael Hector pass was a beauty, too.
Charlton Athletic 2-1 Barnsley
The Addicks picked up their first win of the new year against Barnsley, and this fan's picture is a fine indication of the optimism surrounding the club now they're back in the second tier.
Preston North End 1-1 Swansea City
A dazzling display from Ben Pearson helped his side earn a point against the Swans at the weekend. Off the field, one supporter lost a precious possession - If you've found it, drop 'em a message!
Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Bristol City
The Robins picked up a massive three points in their push for the play-offs, as Famara Diedhiou's header earned his side the win. Benik Afobe, who has missed the whole season with injury, was spotted in the away end, which is always a treat!
