Preston North End retained list: Six depart, one in discussions and new contracts
PNE have confirmed their retained list after the 2025/26 season
Preston North End have announced that six players will leave the club this summer.

The club’s retained list has been confirmed with Robbie Brady, Jamal Lewis, Will Keane, Noah Mawene, Felipe and James Pradic all moving on upon the expiry of their contracts. Keane and Mawene had already said their goodbyes on social media, with the former loaned out to Reading in January.

Brady had an injury-hit third season at PNE, only returning to action in late February and making five substitute appearances. In total he represented North End on 105 occasions, scoring two goals and assisting 12. The Republic of Ireland international will be remembered for his free-kick in last season’s FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Burnley.
Former Newcastle United man, Lewis, joined the club in October on a short-term deal and then extended that until the end of the season. He made 14 appearances for the Lilywhites but saw his time at Deepdale largely impacted by injury. Young duo Felipe and James Pradic never featured for the first team, while Mawene played nine games.
There is no mention of Brad Potts or Andrew Hughes on the club’s retained list. The former is thought to have triggered an extension to his deal, as documented in the FA’s latest list of transactions. The Lancashire Post understands stalwart Hughes has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with option of a further.
Finally, Preston have confirmed they are in talks with Dai Cornell about a new deal. The Welshman has spent the last four years at Deepdale and made 23 appearances. After injury to number one Daniel Iversen, last year, the shot-stopper ended up deputising for seven consecutive league matches.
