Preston North End ran out 2-1 winners at Charlton Athletic on Gentry Day.

Here are our player ratings from The Valley...
Daniel Iversen: Two smart saves to deny Campbell in the first half and a point blank one to deny Jones late on. Little he could do about Charlton’s opener. 7.5
Odel Offiah: Took him a bit of time to settle into the game but did so gradually. Got across to stop one dangerous Charlton move. 7
Jordan Storey: Got to grips with things after the opening exchanges and defended pretty well, with one vital intervention in the first half. Headed a decent chance wide. 7.5
Lewis Gibson: Looked to make forward passes into the channels - hit and miss with those but intent was there. Made huge blocks in both halves to deny likely goals. 7.5
Brad Potts: A great shift on the right. Assisted Dobbin’s goal with an inviting cross. Then scored a trademark goal to finish a lethal counter-attack. 8.5
Andrew Hughes: A rare stint at left wing-back but he impressed. His delivery was often on the money while defensively sharp. Squandered a scoring chance on the break. 7.5
Ben Whiteman: Solid showing from the skipper. Used the ball well and managed his game after being booked. Blocked a Dykes effort in the closing stages. 8
Alfie Devine: Grew into the match. Regularly involved in PNE’s attacks. Had a run through and shot and created a chance for Jebbison. Couldn’t execute a 2v1 in the final stages. 7
Andrew Moran: Didn’t cause huge problems but buzzed around and knitted PNE’s play together nicely at times. 6
Lewis Dobbin: Got Preston back on level terms with his ninth of the season - a well placed header. Then assisted Potts with a lovely weight of pass. 8.5
Daniel Jebbison: Plenty of running and endeavour. Slipped Devine in for a chance. Slotted a good opportunity wide, from close range. He glanced the ball on for Charlton’s goal. 6.5
Jordan Thompson: Introduced for the final 20 minutes or so. Added a bit of freshness and defensive awareness. 6
Milutin Osmajic: Put plenty of work in at the top end. Would’ve probably scored had Devine’s pass been better. 6
Liam Lindsay: Came on with 82 minutes played. Won a few headers. 6
Andrija Vukcevic: A late substitution after injury to Hughes. Cleared when needed. 6
