A Greg Cunningham own goal have the Latics the lead in the first half but an improved display in the second half, and goals from Daniel Johnson from the spot and Tom Cannon, gave Ryan Lowe’s side the win.
The points took North End into the top half, into 12th place, and this is how we rated the players on the day...
9. Daniel Johnson - 7
Like Browne, the Jamaican came into the game more in the second half but it was his alertness to a second ball, which then led to him winning and scoring the penalty, that turned the game around. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
10. Alvaro Fernandez - 6
Most of PNE's play in the first half went through the Spaniard but there was not a lot in the way of an end product on the day. He was up against it given North End weren't at it, but we've seen him play better. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
11. Tom Cannon - 7
Finally has his first goal for the club and he's deserved it. Looked a threat all game, busy and held it up well. Nice to have a poacher that wants to be on the shoulder of the last man. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
12. Troy Parrott - 7
Probably needs to tighten up his decision making, there were a few chances to play others in, but a good creative outlet for PNE and looks to get on the ball which they do lack at times. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
