North End had their chances in the clash, as did the visitors, but neither could find the breakthrough.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...
1. Freddie Woodman - 7
Didn't have a great deal to do in the game but made an important save in the first half one on one. Now holds the record for the most consecutive clean sheets since a debut in the club's history, that is a fine achievement. Photo: Will Matthews
2. Jordan Storey - 7
Got done on the outside a little bit against Watford, more so than he has in the past this season, but more often than not would recover the ground and get back to make a tackle. More consistent, solid defending. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
3. Liam Lindsay - 8
Beginning to run out of superlatives for the Scot at the heart of PNE's defence, he has been a beacon of consistency and resilience in the middle of the back three and a huge part of the exceptional start to the season for the defence. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
4. Andrew Hughes - 6
Lasted just 19 minute before having to be substituted with a shoulder injury. A massive shame for the Welshman who is one of the first on the team sheet and was a shout for player of the year last season - hopefully it is not too serious. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
