1. Watford 1-0 Middlesbrough
The Hornets grabbed the three points in a narrow win Boro, but it was Middlesbrough debutant Grant Hall who really impressed. He won 13 aerial challenges - more than any other player in the division last weekend.

2. Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Rotherham United
While we're on the subject of defensive efforts, ex-Wolves youngster Michael Ihiekwe was in similar form for the Saddlers. He kept a clean sheet, made eight clearances - oh, he scored the match-winning goal too.

3. Birmingham City 1-0 Brentford
The Bees lost despite dominating possession and shots on goal. However, Birmingham's aerial superiority gave them a distinct advance - they won 30 challenges in the air to Brentford's 17, and their winning goal was a header.

4. Barnsley 0-1 Luton Town
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's played a complete midfield game in the Hatters' big win. He made four successful dribbles, two interceptions, hit three accurate long balls, and set up the winning goal to boot.
