Preston North End confirm another pre-season friendly and kit launch event details
The latest pre-season and kit news from Deepdale
Pre-season friendly number six has been confirmed for Preston North End.
The Lilywhites have another trip over to Yorkshire, this time to face Bradford City - managed by PNE legend Graham Alexander. The Bantams made the play-offs in their first season back in League One, but came up short in the semi-finals against Bolton Wanderers.
It follows North End’s announcement of a behind-closed-doors clash with Sheffield Wednesday, at the Owls’ training ground. Preston will head to Valley Parade on Wednesday, 29 July with kick-off 7:30pm.
It will be almost seven years since the Lilywhites last travelled to Bradford. The August 2019 trip came in the Carabao Cup and PNE ran out 4-0 winners. Ticket information for the friendly will be released in due course.
Pre-season schedule so far
Tuesday, 14 July: Bamber Bridge away, 7pm Wednesday, 15 July: Chorley away, 7pm Saturday, 18 July: Sheffield Wednesday away, behind-closed-doors Friday, 24 July: Cambridge United in Spain, 10am Wednesday, 29 July: Bradford City away, 7:30pm Saturday, 1 August: Stockport County away, 3pm
Meanwhile, North End have confirmed details of Saturday’s kit launch event at Deepdale. Starting at approximately 9:30am, the first two thousand fans to buy the new home shirt will receive a free SpudBros jacket potato.
Local indie band Tuesday Night Whites will be performing three short sets, the first of those at 9:45am. There will be the opportunity to visit the home dressing room, courtesy of the PNE Community and Education Trust (£3 donations to PNECET required).
Deepdale Duck will be in attendance for photo opportunities, along with local magician Jason Rea. Interactive inflatables will be provided by event business, The Fun Experts. Food and drink can be purchased from outside vans; the Gentry Bar is open too.
Also on offer in the Gentry Bar is a ‘special kitman’s fire sale’ - to be operated by the club’s Fan Advisory Network. Supporters can get their hands on match worn kits from the last three years at ‘very low prices’, with proceeds going to PNE Flags’ kitty for Tifos.
