PNE will face Wrexham in the second round of the Carabao Cup

Preston North End were backed by just shy of 1,000 fans at Barrow on Tuesday night.

A second half own goal from defender Charlie Raglan earned Paul Heckingbottom’s side a 0-1 win at Holker Street.

The Lilywhites will host fellow Championship side Wrexham in the second round, with ties to be played the week commencing August 25.

On the support at Barrow, PNE debutant Jack Walton said: "To see it packed out away on a Tuesday night in a cup game, that just shows what this club's about and how good the fans are. That's one reason why I wanted to come to the club so yeah, it was brilliant."
