5. Steve Borthwick
Carlisle born, Borthwick attended Hutton Grammar School and began his rugby career with Preston Grasshoppers. He would play over 400 games for Bath and Saracens, as well as 57 for England. He is now the head coach of the national team. In 2021, he told BBC Leicester: "My dream would have been to play for Preston North End, it probably still is! That’s my team. I dreamt as a kid of playing for them. I stood on terraces at Deepdale. Unsurprisingly, I was a centre half!"
6. Michael Smith
Okay, Smith may be more of a Patrick Bauer fan than PNE. But, the 2023 World Darts champion been to watch North End a fair few times since becoming good pals with the German defender. He was there on Boxing Day, as Preston saw off promotion-chasing Leeds United.
7. Nick Park
One of the UK's most famous animators, Park is the hugely talented filmmaker behind Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts, Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, and Early Man. He has won four Academy Awards for his iconic work.
8. Jessica Pietersen
One fifth of the noughties pop group, Liberty X and wife of English cricket icon, Kevin. Formerly a Taylor, the 43-year-old was born in Preston and supports her hometown club.
