Harrison Armstrong's classy 7-word goodbye to Preston North End following Everton recall

Harrison Armstrong has said his Preston North End goodbyes via social media

Harrison Armstrong has issued a seven-word statement following confirmation of his Preston North End exit.

The Everton midfielder, who made quite the impression during his loan stint at Deepdale, took to social media following confirmation of his return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Thursday morning.

Everton ended weeks of speculation about the 18-year-old’s immediate future by recalling their academy product on the opening day of the January transfer window.

His immediate return meant Harrison was denied the chance to say his goodbyes to the Lilywhites for today’s game against Sheffield Wednesday at Deepdale. Instead, he’s expected to be part of David Moyes’ first-team squad for their Premier League game against Brentford on Saturday.

However, Armstrong made sure his time with Paul Heckingbottom’s side didn’t come to an abrupt end without a classy parting message via his instagram account.

Indeed, shortly after his return to the Toffees was announced, he took to social media to say: ‘Some club, it’s been a pleasure @pnefcofficial.’

That message will go down well among the Deepdale faithful, who had taken the Everton loanee to their hearts following his temporary switch to Deepdale on final day of the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Armstrong played a pivitol role in the side’s current promotion push, featuring 17 times for North End and starting the Lilywhites’ past five games before the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

The talented teenager also contributed one goal and one assist, with his 81st-minute effort against Wrexham on December 6, rescuing a point for Heckingbottom’s promotion-chasers.

PNE are expected to use the transfer window to find a replacement for Armstrong, with Ali McCann restored to the starting XI against Wednesday on their first game without the midfielder.
