Scores out of 10 from PNE’s cup clash with Everton.
Preston North End lost 4-0 to Everton and exited the Carabao Cup at the second round stage.

Here are our player ratings.
Starting XI
Lee Nicholls: Feels odd to say after such a comprehensive scoreline but he looked assured from crosses etc., couldn’t do much about the goals. Decent distribution under pressure, Smart save from Dewsbury-Hall early in second half. 6
Pol Valentin: Some decent clearances but struggled against Ndiaye in the main. Nowhere near Mykolenko before his assist for Barry’s first goal. 5
Jordan Storey: Decent blocks early on to deny Ndiaye. Neither him or Gibson really got close to Barry for opener and Johnson for fourth. 5.5
Lewis Gibson: A vocal captain. Some big blocks. Could have done better with Barry’s first. 5.5
Andy Vukcevic: North End’s biggest threat on crosses, though many of them were overpowered. Couple of sloppy passes. 5.5
Jordan Thompson: Some great long balls up to Burgzorg. A tad sloppy at times. 6
Léo Leroy: Put his body on the line. Tackles and clearances aplenty. Great on the ball too. Should have done better with his effort. 6.5
Thierry Small: Struggled to get foothold in game early on. Could have got tighter to Mykolenko before his assist. 5.5
Andrew Moran: Got stuck in. Always looked to create. Panicked a little on the ball at times, a few passes in the final third went astray. 6.5
Delano Burgzorg: Got into great areas, good cut back for Leroy effort. Sometimes a little hesitant on the break. Decision making hit and miss. 6
Jusef Erabi: Great eye for a pass when playing deeper. Needed help up top. 5.5
Substitutes
Harry Clarke: Lost Barry for third goal. 5.5
Ali McCann: Solid in brief time on pitch. Looks like a pulled hamstring. 6
Alfie Devine: Game passed him by. Coulld have stopped third goal. 5.5
Callum Lang: Would’ve been some impact if that overhead kick had come off! 6
