Preston North End defender Paul Huntington hit with a retrospective three-match suspension

Preston North End centre-half Paul Huntington has been given a retrospective three-match suspension by the FA following an incident during Wednesday's defeat to Derby County.

Huntington stood on Louie Sibley as he went to remonstrate with the referee after being pulled-up for a foul on the young Derby striker.

Sibley was on the ground after the initial foul and referee Jarred Gillett missed the incident which the FA deem was a red-card offence.

The ban rules Huntington out of the games against Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

Huntington was making his first appearance since January 1, having got the nod ahead of Patrick Bauer who dropped to the bench.

It is the 32-year-old's first red card - retrospectively or otherwise - in his 281 appearances for North End.
