Preston North End’s 2026 got off to the perfect start as Paul Heckingbottom’s men claimed maximum points from a home clash with Sheffield Wednesday and an away day at Championship play-off rivals Bristol City.
However, that victory at Ashton Gate remains the last time North End claimed three points from a league fixture after they fell to defeats in home games with Derby County and Hull City and a visit to automatic promotion contenders Middlesbrough.
The latter of those losses have left Heckingbottom’s side sitting one point and three places outside of the play-off spots ahead of Saturday’s visit to Ipswich Town and there is a feeling they must arrest their drop in form as soon as possible to avoid doing further damage to an unexpected push for the top six.
But how does North End’s form compare to their rivals across the Championship?
