US-Saudi businessman spotted at Preston North End vs QPR days after intriguing social media post
Talks between PNE and the businessman were confirmed earlier this year
Mr Amr Zedan has been spotted at Deepdale ahead of Preston North End’s game against Queens Park Rangers.

Zedan was pictured walking around the ground alongside his entourage by a number of PNE fans, on Easter Monday afternoon. His attendnace comes just three days after Zedan posted a photo on Instagram of him watching the 2-2 draw between Leicester City and North End.
The US-Saudi businessman captioned his story post, ‘let’s go @pnefcofficial’. He also shared the club’s half time post, at which point they were winning 2-1. The investor’s interest in the club first became public in January.
New non-executive chairman Ian Penrose confirmed the two parties had been in discussions after Sky News first reported the contact. In an update published on the club website, Penrose said: “Mr Zedan is one of a number of successful individuals or organisations that have made enquiries about the club.
“Specific comments on any approach are inappropriate at this stage. This is a complex process that requires many financial, legal and regulatory hurdles to be appropriately satisfied. The Board is being advised throughout this process by Rothschild & Co.
“Whilst such a transaction can take months to conclude, and there is no certainty that a successful outcome will be achieved, it is the Board’s intention to conclude these negotiations at the earliest opportunity.
“It is of utmost importance that any future owner of Preston North End is the right fit for the football club, in order to maximise the club’s potential and the ambitions of our fans, stakeholders and owners.”
In October 2025, a two-year target to sell PNE was set via a club strategy update from Craig Hemmings - whose family have owned PNE since 2010. Mr Zedan, a serial venture capital investor, has a background in sports business and horse racing.
A spokesperson for Zedan, back in January, said discussions had started in early December before stalling. He was one of several people to express an interest, publicly, in buying Chelsea FC back in March 2022.
