It was a game which failed to catch light until the closing stages when both sides had a couple of good chances each.
For PNE, centre-half Bambo Diaby stood out. It was only his second start for the club but he was powerful at the back and played a big part in the clean sheet.

The PNE defender played two roles against his home-town club, starting at wing-back and then moving into the back three. Played both roles in his usual solid way. Photo: CameraSport - Ian Cook
The young striker had a couple of chances, one of which the keeper spilled to present Browne with a good chance. Archer's work rate was good, with him prepared to go looking for the ball. Photo: CameraSport - Ian Cook
PNE's leading scorer didn't really get the chance to add to his 17-goal haul, with the Cardiff defence keeping him quiet. He didn't really get into the game and was replaced later in the contest. Photo: CameraSport - Ian Cook
McCann came off the bench in the 63rd minute and filled in at left wing-back. He got well to cover a few times and got forward to try and work an opening. In stoppage-time he switched into midfield when Browne went off. Could a start at Luton be on the cards? Photo: CameraSport - Ian Cook
