Though Ryan Lowe’s side had the chances to win the game, they could not find the breakthrough and were left hanging on after Ched Evans’ 80th minute red card.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...

. Freddie Woodman - 6
A good game to get for your debut, a sellout away end and routine saves to make throughout. Only one required a bit of extra attention but a 'keeper of his quality should save it, and he did. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
. Jordan Storey - 7
A very solid return to Championship life for Storey as he slotted back in like he hadn't been away. Gave little for the Wigan forwards to go off and was organised in the backline. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
. Liam Lindsay - 8
Has his doubters amongst the fanbase but gave a clear showing of why he is currently first choice down the centre of the defence. He was a colossus on the day up against a physical Wigan side, and didn't let an ankle injury end his day early as it could have easily done. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
. Andrew Hughes - 7
The minimum you would likely expect from Hughes, he operates at a high level and was his consistent and tidy self at the DW. Was up against Wigan's chief creator in Callum Lang and kept him quiet. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
. Brad Potts - 5
He couldn't get into the game and couldn't find consistency in the game either. His touch wasn't quite there and though he was dependant in his defensive work, he offered little going forward. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
13. Alvaro Fernandez - 6
Looked like he could be quite exciting, particularly on the ball, when his chance comes. Was positive in possession and looked to go forward, though he still needs to get used to the level. Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White
14. Ched Evans - 4
An eight minute cameo that ended with a red card. He didn't have much in the game before an over-eager slide tackle into Curtis Tilt, he was trying to take the fight to Wigan but took a bit too much of it. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
15. Ryan Ledson - 6
On with just a few minutes to go, he didn't have much to do aside from take up space in the middle of the park to make life a little more difficult for Wigan. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
