The PNE team emerge from the tunnel to face AFC Bournemouth
Daniel Johnson was on target with PNE's equaliser after Amaur Danjuma had given the Cherries a first-half lead. Here are the North End player ratings.
Very good display from the Danish keeper, he kept PNE in the contest in the first half with three smart saves. PNE’s best out-field performer on the day. He’s taken to the right-back role very well and didn’t let much past him. Assured on the ball. Part of a defence which came under heavy first-half pressure but came out conceding just once. Steady performance. Caught under the ball for Bournemouth’s goal, Solanke taking advantage to set up Danjuma. Otherwise looked quite solid at the back. Recovered from an early knock to help PNE to a draw, growing into the game in line with his team-mates. Back in midfield after a game out, the skipper’s passing was a bit loose and he didn’t stamp his mark on proceedings. Found his passing range better as the game went on, set up a chance for Evans and had a shot himself later on. Saw more of him the winger in the second half than the first. Had a shot blocked in the box after being played through. Not a vintage display from DJ but the midfielder came up with the goods to score North End’s equaliser with an assured finish. Rarely got into the game from the left-wing and you’d expect more from the top scorer. Was subbed in the second half. Another good shift up front, got little service in the first half but looked more of a threat in the second period. Came on in the 66th minute and made a decent impact, North End looked more of a threat with him on. Used the ball well. The Everton loan man was part of a double substitution, made a couple of strong runs from the left-wing and gave PNE a different dynamic. Joined the action in the 84th in place of Daniel Johnson as North End looked for fresh legs to see them the final stages.
