Joe Rafferty sent the ball into his own net inside the opening second of the game and Ben Wiles doubled the Miller lead in the second half before Ched Evans pulled a goal back for PNE.
Here's how the players fared on the day...

. Daniel Iversen - 6
Made some smart saves, though they were the type you would expect him to make. Seemed a little hesitant at times which may be down to his new defence whilst things are still new.

. Joe Rafferty - 5
A poor game for the PNE right back where at times even simple balls down the line proved difficult. The own goal can't be put against him too much, these things happen as a defender.

. Paul Huntington - 6
Seemed a bit off it compared to his recent games, not commanding or winning the majority of his duels. May also be while he settles into the new defence, didn't reach 300 games through luck.

. Liam Lindsay - 6
Looked rusty at times, given that they were his first minutes this campaign. Good for him to get 90 under his belt to build from.

. Andrew Hughes - 6
Looked the most assured of the backline but didn't get too much end product out of him going forward and Rotherham seemed to target the right side over his.

. Ben Whiteman - 6
Showed more promising signs of him at the base of PNE's midfield. Controls the game very well and shows good intelligence to turn when under pressure and get his side going forward.

13. Brad Potts - 6
The third part of the triple change but failed to have an impact. Often his first touch sees him going backwards or being conservative. Would like to see him drive forward more.

14. Daniel Johnson - 6
Came on as part of a triple change immediately after PNE's goal, got on the ball in parts but didn't affect the game.

15. Sean Maguire - 6
A late change but didn't get much of the ball, almost got on the end of a ball over the top but it was too long. That's as best as he got.

16. Sepp van den Berg - 6
Did what he had to but we will see more of him as the season progresses, after he game on North End were pushing forward rather than defending.
