Frazier Campbell had put the hosts into the lead but a two minute double from Alan Browne had North End in a lead that they defended for the remaining 40 minutes.
Here's how the players did on a wet afternoon in Yorkshire...
1. Joe Rafferty - 8
Hard not to call him a dependable and solid performer, as is the case every week. Equally adept at left wing back, causing problems that led to the second goal, and at right back on the day.
2. Declan Rudd - 7
A good showing from Rudd who did well to snuff out an early attack before being beaten by Campbell, which he could do nothing about. A reliable performer.
3. Jordan Storey - 8
Carried on from where he left off against QPR, he consistently shows composure beyond his age but is not afraid to get stuck in. Will be giving Alex Neil a headache when Ben Davies becomes available.
4. Patrick Bauer - 8
Made some crucial blocks and headers, especially as North End dug in to see out the win. Almost scored from a corner but for the back of Alan Browne's head.
