Browne's curling effort in the final seconds of the game secured the three points, with Martyn Waghorn having been sent off after 20 minutes.
Here's how the players fared on the day...
5. Josh Earl - 7
A bright spark down the left all game, looked positive and direct. Did his job defensively and offered in the final third, an encouraging return so far.
6. Paul Gallagher - 7
Dictated play throughout his time on the pitch, the numerical advantage suiting his play form deep. Nailed his diagonal passes from the off and helped create openings.
7. Alan Browne - 7
Worked doggedly from the first minute to the last and the leader and captain deserved his goal. Showed composure and poise to roll the ball onto his left and find the far corner.
8. Tom Barkhuizen - 6
Probably had the best chance of the second half as he shot at the end of a break but couldn't beat Marshall. Came in and out of the game and not quite in it enough.
