Captain Alan Browne battles with Dominic Solanke.

Goals from Tom Barkhuizen, Scott Sinclair and Patrick Bauer giving PNE a lead that Junior Stanislas and Sam Surridge cut down, but the Cherries couldn't find an equaliser.

Here's how the players fared on the night...

Another solid performance from the PNE 'keeper who didn't have much to do despite conceding twice. Could do nothing about the two goals.

An excellent display at right back, Bournemouth came down their left a lot in the first half and were repelled each time, leading to the sub of Riquelme on that wing.
A strong display from the German and popped up with a well taken goal. Sadly, due to an Achilles injury, he'll miss the rest of the season after being stretchered off. All the best to him in his recovery.
The other half of the solid defensive pair on the night, limited Bournemouth to very few chances, with two goals a bit flattering. Unlucky to be booked for what looked a well timed tackle.
Had less to do down his side but that may be a compliment to his intelligent defending normally. Anything that did come down his side rarely ended with anything relating to a chance.
Covered every blade of grass and marshalled the midfield effectively, sets the tone in the centre and wins the ball all over the pitch, picking the pocket on the edge of the Bournemouth box too.
Good work in the midfield alongside Pearson, showed his vision too with a few cutting forward passes. Looks to be in good tandem with Pearson this season, coming away from the understudy tag.
His pace always causes problems and no one could keep up with him as he was first to get on the end of Johnson's cross that was ahead of Sinclair even. Diligent work in defence too.
Back to his best orchestrating from the advanced position and picking his moments well. Comes away with two assists and a great display after his commitment was questioned.
Coming in and out of the game not an issue on the night, he got himself in it. On the run, 40 yards out and chipped a 'keeper who's 6ft 6in (above). Stunning. Showed energy and pace up until the last minute too.
Led the line expertly and laid the ball into Johnson's path to set up the opening goal. An excellent foil to the forward players around him, got his body in well and headed an assist for Sinclair.
Came on with less than five minutes of normal time to go, a willing runner and looked a threat putting Mepham under pressure but his role was to help see out the game.
Came on for Barkhuizen not long before the end, slotted in well and did his defensive duties but didn't have anything going forward as was the game at that point.
Came on for the injured Bauer and slotted into the defence, helped organise and defend for the final few minutes of the contest.
Didn't have time to impact the game, on for Johnson five minutes after the 90. Did his part defensively and kept the shape.
