Next Preston North End manager odds shorten for favourite

With the news of Alex Neil's departure on Sunday afternoon, the bookies have been quick to install who they think is the most likeliest to take over.

Here are the top 10 current favourites for the position...

9. Alan Pardew - 25/1

A real journeyman of football management, Alan Pardew has had a few high profile roles, including as West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle manager. He's most recently been at ADO Den Haag and is currently at CSKA Sofia.

10. Eddie Howe - 16/1

Would be considered a bit of a coup if North End were to appoint him, but the former Bournemouth boss will be wanted by many. He took the Cherries from the fourth tier to the top flight and left the club following their relegation last season.
