Liverpool vs Preston result as Mo Salah features in behind-closed-doors friendly defeat
PNE played the Premier League giants on Friday
Preston North End beat Liverpool 1-0 in Friday's behind-closed-doors friendly.

The Lilywhites headed to the AXA Training Centre, for their fourth test of the summer, as preparations for the new 2024/25 campaign continued. Liverpool pencilled the fixture in ahead of their trip to the United States, with Arne Slot gearing up for his first season as manager at Anfield.
And, Ryan Lowe's team ran out narrow winners on a hot afternoon in Kirkby. Robbie Brady scored an 'incredible 40-yard lob' as Mohamed Salah, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Sepp van den Berg and Dominik Szoboszlai featured for the hosts.
The Reds are without several stars - due to Euro 2024 and the Copa America - but were still able to name a strong side. Preston picked up their first pre-season win on Wednesday night, defeating Bamber Bridge 3-0 - one day after losing 1-2 at Southport.
The summer kicked off with a 0-1 loss to Lincoln City, out in Spain. For the Lilywhites, it's now on to Fiorentina at home next Saturday. PNE then head to Salford City in midweek, before a final friendly at home to Everton.
As for Liverpool, they entertain Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla, before kicking off their league campaign - away to Premier League new boys Ipswich Town.
