Preston North End’s Alan Browne has spoken on his busy summer after getting engaged in Dubai.
The Republic of Ireland international also spent two weeks with the national side before returning to pre-season.
“I didn’t overly plan it,” Browne told the club. “I just kind of went with the moment and when it felt right I did it, and I think that took the nerves away a little bit because there wasn’t much of a build up, and thankfully she said yes!”
The 27-year-old returned to training with his Lilywhites teammates on Monday morning and has spoken on the training so far.
Alan said: “It’s actually good. I know usually pre-season isn’t the best for any player, but in my last few days off I was itching to get back.
“We lost quite a lot of players at the end of last season so I wasn’t sure how things would be when I got back, but it’s a good buzz around the place and in terms of signings I think the club have done really well so far and hopefully we can add even more over the coming weeks.”
Preston are set to travel to Spain today ahead of a week’s training camp, which includes a match against La Liga side Getafe next week.
