Late swoop for Everton's Anthony Gordon completes Preston North End's transfer business

Preston North End have rounded-off their transfer window business with a late swoop for Everton's attacking midfielder Anthony Gordon.

Gordon, 19, became North End's eighth signing of the window - the seventh on loan.

His arrival was announced 45 minutes after the close of the window, the deal having hinged on Everton bringing in Josh King from Bournemouth.

With Championship clubs only allowed to have five loan players in a match day squad, it looks like PNE will attempt to turn a couple of loans into permanent deals.

The teenager came through the ranks at Everton and broke into the first-team squad last season.

He's made 20 appearances for the Toffees, seven of them this campaign.

With first-team chances limited at the moment, the Toffees have allowed him to come to Deepdale for a run of games.

Gordon can play on the wing or more centrally and PNE do need some more creativity.

In a busy January and first day of February, the eight incomings have been balanced out by eight departures.
