Preston North End got back to winning ways on Tuesday night as the Lilywhites picked up a 1-3 victory at Huddersfield Town.
Here are our talking points from the midweek away win.

5. Waiting game for Layton
North End had no out-and-out striker on the bench, with Mads Frokjaer and Ben Woodburn the two most attacking options. Andrew Hughes, Greg Cunningham, Kian Best and Robbie Brady were all substitutes - four players who can play left wing-back and three who can play left centre-back. That did make the omission of Layton Stewart seem slightly strange, with PNE's boss having praised the summer signing's efforts in training plenty of times in the press. Stewart travelled with the squad, as he did at Norwich, but didn't make the 18. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the season holds for him, with Milutin Osmajic and Emil Riis both set for returns sooner rather than later. A loan move in January for Stewart could be a good option for all parties. | CameraSport - Andrew Kearns
