All those 22 have been in the starting XI in the 11 league matches played to date.

Club captain Alan Browne is the one ever present in Championship action, with him involved in all but 11 minutes of league action.

The only game Browne did not finish was the 2-2 draw at Norwich in September when he came off with a tight calf muscle.

Three players have started 10 league matches, those being Declan Rudd, Ryan Ledson and Scott Sinclair.

The one game Rudd missed was the season’s opener against Swansea due to a glute muscle injury suffered during pre-season training.

Ledson’s absence from the starting XI was in the defeat to Birmingham, with him coming off the bench in the 62nd minute.

That was the game which Sinclair did not feature – he was an unused substitute.

Joe Rafferty, Brad Potts, Jordan Storey and Patrick Bauer have started eight games, Rafferty and Potts having come off the bench twice and Storey once.

Left-back Andrew Hughes has started seven and made two substitute appearances, and will stay on that figure for a while having suffered a hamstring strain.

Daniel Johnson has played the last six games since his return from a groin injury, with Ben Pearson, Ben Davies and Emil Riss all having started five games – Riis with three sub appearances too.

Pearson and Davies, known collectively around the club as ‘the two Bens’ were both injured in the defeat to Cardiff and have not featured since.

Two of the squad who were go-to players for Neil last season – Sean Maguire and Tom Barkhuizen – have had less involvement of late.

Both have made four starts, Barkhuizen’s run in the team halted by a one-match ban for his red card against Stoke.

Maguire being an unused substitute against Millwall was the first time he had not featured in a league game since August 2019.

Darnell Fisher has also started only four games due to injury.

In addition to the 22 players used in the league, Tom Bayliss and Josh Earl were used in the Carabao Cup.

Bayliss started all three of the cup games, with Earl playing in the first round against Mansfield.
