Preston North End manager Alex Neil stuck with an unchanged starting XI for the Boxing Day clash with Derby County at Pride Park.

That was not too much of a surprise bearing in mind they beat Bristol City last time out and had been able to take advantage of an eight-day gap in the fixture list.

The single change in the match day squad was Ryan Ledson's return to the bench after a calf injury, the midfielder replacing Jacob Holland-Wilkinson among the substitutes.

Derby being a in tier 3 meant an empty stadium, that seeming even stranger on Boxing Day than in recent months.
