Neil was speaking to the local media via Zoom from Euxton to preview Saturday's visit to Luton Town.

When answering questions from Radio Lancashire's Dan Jewell, a cat appeared on Jewell's screen.

Neil paused from his answer and then said: "Is that a cat's tail I have just seen?

"I don't like cats, I'm more of a dog person!"

The cat is a pet of one of Jewell's neighbours and had wandered into the reporter's house.

Once a discussion about pets had taken place, Neil resumed the conference and delivered his thoughts on the visit to Kenilworth Road.

The PNE boss reported no fresh injuries from Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Middlesbrough at Deepdale.
