PNE are out of the Carabao Cup after a defeat at home to Liverpool.

North End had the better of the chances in the first half, Brad Potts going through on goal and seeing his shot saved and likewise Sean Maguire from six yards.

The Reds took the lead in the second half, Takumi Minamino prodding the ball home from a near post cross.

Divock Origi gave the away side breathing room, a creative, improvised effort to backheel the ball over Declan Rudd.
