The Lilywhites came from a goal down to run out comprehensive winners with a fine second-half display.

Paul Huntington cancelled out Cian Bolger’s opener before Tom Barkhuizen, Daniel Johnson, from the penalty spot, and Daryl Horgan were on target after the break, a Lewie Coyle own goal completing the scoring against the League One.

“I thought we played some great stuff in the first half, I just don’t think we were as effective with some of our passing,” said Neil.

“And generally teams are a bit fresher in the first half so it’s more difficult to break them down.

“But I thought we created some good chances, hit the post and should have scored a few in the first half.

“We didn’t and to react in the manner that we did to going 1-0 down was great.

“We got the goal just before half-time which was a great thing for us and then our second half performance was as good as you’re likely to see.”
