The Wednesday-night clash will have the usual 7.45pm kick-off and is in the latest batch of seven Championship games which Sky have announced they will be covering.

On the initial fixture list published in the summer, the game was scheduled for October 31, however, it was moved to November 1 earlier in the season as Villa play Birmingham the previous Sunday and are entitled to a longer recovery spell.

North End's home game with Bolton Wanderers on Friday, November 17, is also being televised by Sky - that was announced last month.

Championship clubs get a £100,000 broadcast fee for a home televised game and £10,000 if they are the visitors.

Last season, PNE beat Villa 2-0 at Deepdale with goals from Ben Pearson and Jordan Hugill.

It proved to be the last game in charge of Villa for Roberto Di Matteo.

The return fixture at Villa Park ended in a 2-2 draw, Hugill scoring both goals as North End hit back from being 2-0 down.
