The loan will also cover the League Two play-offs should Accy secure a place in them.

Little joined PNE on a Bosman from Glasgow Rangers in June 2014 but things have not worked out for him at Deepdale.

He made 16 appearances last season, scoring twice, his last competitive game in a Preston shirt being as a late substitute against Bradford on Easter Monday last year.

The 26-year-old had a spell on loan at Blackpool earlier this season, finding the net once in five appearances before a hamstring injury cut short his time with the Seasiders.

Stanley boss John Coleman said: “He’s someone I’ve monitored for a long time.

“When he was breaking through at Rangers I tried to sign him but then he had a purple patch and scored a lot of goals and that put him out of my ball park to be honest.

“He’s suffered with injuries this year so this is a chance for him to get some football and get himself back on track.

“When you’ve not played for while you just want to play and I think the exposure to the first team he’ll get will do him good.”

Little is out of contract at Preston this summer.

His move to Accrington is the only piece of business done by North End on the last day of the Football League’s loan window.

This is the last emergency loan window, from next season FIFA are not permitting league clubs to trade outside of the two transfer windows.
