Non-league round-up: Home defeat for Bamber Bridge but Lancaster City victorious

Jamie Milligan’s Bamber Bridge suffered a 2-1 home defeat in the NPL Premier Division as Buxton plundered two first-half goals at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

All the goals came after the interval, David Norris putting the Dolly Blues in front in the 66th minute.

Jacob Holland-Wilkinson doubled City’s advantage six minutes later, with Jordan Buckley (77) replying for Warrington.

In the NPL North West, Kendal Town lost 3-2 at home to Runcorn Linnets.

Chris Humphrey (6) and Charlie Birch (55) were Kendal’s scorers, with Ryan Brooke (31), Alexander Downes (52) and Iwan Murray (74) netting for Runcorn.

In the National League North, Southport were 3-0 winners at Blyth Spartans.

And in the NWCL Premier Division, Longridge Town’s home clash with Warrington Rylands, and Burscough’s trip to Avro were called off due to Covid-19 restrictions, as was Garstang’s scheduled visit to Holker Old Boys in the NWCL First Division North.

Clitheroe had a blank date at the weekend due to Marine’s involvement in the FA Cup.
