Magpies target first victory tonight and Brig also in action

Connor Hall had gives the Magpies the lead on the hour mark only for Mark Beck to grab a late equaliser to grab a share of the spoils.

Despite feeling disappointed that his team had not managed to hold onto all three points, Preece felt there was plenty of positives to take out of the display.

"We started off a little bit slowly,” Preece told ChorleyTV.com. “They moved the ball really well and were causing us quite a few problems almost from kick-off.

"They are a really good side in what they do with the diamond formation, the way they move the ball.

"We came to terms with that after 15 minutes and finished the first half really strongly.

"Then to get in front, it’s disappointing to get pegged back so late on but performance wise, I’m really happy against such a good team.”

That first win of the season in the National League North come come this evening when Chorley welcome Blyth Spartans to Victory Park.

The Spartans have lost their opening two fixtures and the Magpies will be aiming to make home advantage count.

"It will be a really tough game against Blyth,” said Preece. “They beat us at home last season and probably deserved to as well.

"We know we are going to have to play at least as well as we did on S aturday to get a result.”

On Saturday, the Magpies are on their travels once more when travel to Boston United.

Bamber Bridge will go in search of their first win in the NPL Premier Division tonight when they host newcomers Marske United at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

Marske won the NPL East Division play-offs and defeated Belper Town on the opening day of the season.

By contrast Brig lost 4-2 away at Stafford Rangers. On Saturday, Jamie Milligan’s men host Liversedge.
