Magpies Striker Kole Hall's comeback bid is hit by extra delay

Boss Andy Preece remains cautiously optimistic that striker Kole Hall, below, will play some part for Chorley this season.

The Magpies remain without last season’s talisman after he was struck down with an unspecified medical condition last summer.

He has not played a single minute for the club this season, although Preece is hopeful that could change in the coming weeks.

At Christmas, the Magpies manager tentatively revealed that Hall could be back in contention by the end of this month, but the Bermudan has been hit with another slight delay.

"Kole is having to have another scan because the one he had before was not clear else he could have had the all-clear by now,” said Preece.

"That’s been a bit of a delay for him so we’re hopeful within the next week he will have the scan – it's just how soon we can get the results back. He’s been training so he won’t be a million miles away when he is cleared to play.”
