Magpies need to add a bit of quality to change their fortunes

Andy Preece takes his Chorley team to Telford on Tuesday evening desperate for three points to stay in touch with the National League North play-off places.

He felt the Magpies deserved something from Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Radcliffe, which came after successive victories against Merthyr Town and Southport.

The Magpies boss said: “I can’t complain about the performance. I think we were a little hard done by not to pick up something from the game.

“But credit to Radcliffe. They dug in, in that first half-an-hour and put their bodies on the line, and when you do that away from home sometimes you deserve a little bit of luck.”

And he knows where Chorley need to improve ahead of a tricky encounter on Tuesday against a Telford team six points better off than them.

“We probably lacked a little bit of quality in the final third,” he told Chorley FC TV.

“Because whenever we did get past them or down the line or put any crosses in, there was no real quality in our play.”
