The Magpies have been left frustrated in the past two games having to settle for a 1-1 draw after being pegged back twice by Darlington and Blyth Spartans respectively at Victory Park.

The draw against Blyth in midweek was particularly galling for Preece as he felt his men had dominated a large part of the match.

However, they were made to pay for not creating enough opportunities to add to Connor Hall’s early second half opener.

Lewis McNall’s great strike in the 65th minute enough to earn the visitors a point.

"We are getting into good areas,” said Preece. “It’s just what do we do now when we get into the final third – what can we improve whether it’s our movement, our delivery, finishing, our decision-making.

"Those are the thing which we will be looking at. If we were hanging on in games and getting a point which we don’t deserve, then there would be a lot of work to be done in training.

"We are doing a lot of good things. We just need to keep believing, keep on top in games – the three points will come.

"At the minute, we are just not creating enough for the actual quality that we are showing in and around the build up.”

While Chorley need to improve that aspect of their game, Preece believes his men will head to Boston in good heart.

The Pilgrims – like the Magpies – have yet to win this season and were surprisingly beaten 5-3 at home on the opening day of the season by Southport.

"We will try to repeat the good things that we have been doing,” he said.

"We have not conceded many chances in the three games – Matty Urwin has not had a lot to do so defensively we are looking strong.

"Boston is not a easy place to go and after their first result of the season at home, I am sure they will want to put that right.”

Elsewhere, Southport are away to Alfreton Town while AFC Fylde welcome Scarborough Athletic to Mill Farm.

Meanwhile, Bamber Bridge go in search of their first victory of the season when they welcome Liversedge to the Sir Tom Finney stadium this weekend.

Brig drew with Marske United in midweek to earn their first point of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Clitheroe host Colne in the FA Cup preliminary round, while Charnock Richard head to Sildsen. Kendal Town visit Bishop Auckland.
